How to Start and End a Nomi Roleplay with Roleplay Starters

To start a Nomi roleplay, use chat + > New Roleplay, choose a category or your own idea, then select and adapt a suggestion. The next reply starts the scene. To end it, clear Current Roleplay in Backstory+ and save. This ends scenario context, not verified deletion of chats or memories.

Before starting: adults, privacy and payment

This guide is for adults using an existing Nomi account for fictional-adult roleplay. Prepare a harmless brief and a stopping point before opening the feature.

Keep real addresses, private conversations, identifying workplace details and other people's personal information out of the scenario. Prefer invented names and locations. Before submitting sensitive material, read the provider's current privacy and retention information; these feature guides do not establish confidentiality or complete erasure.

Before paying, inspect the access, allowance, total charge, renewal and cancellation terms actually offered to you. No feature-specific price, quota or universal free entitlement is verified here. Do not subscribe merely to search for a missing control. This tutorial reports documentation, not a signed-in trial.

1. Choose the intended chat and open the starter

In that Nomi's chat, press + and select New Roleplay. Expected result: scenario options, as described in the official guide.

Check the intended companion before proceeding, especially if you have several conversations. The Roleplay Starters instructions are the route reference. If the named control is absent, stop and consult official help with your platform and the missing label. Do not assume another menu has an equivalent effect or pay to diagnose its absence.

2. Pick a category or enter an original idea

Choose Ice Breakers, Realistic Adventures, Fantasy Adventures, Surprise Me!, or enter your own idea. Expected result: a starting direction for suggestions.

Try this original brief: Two fictional adults, Alex and Morgan, visit an imaginary observatory to identify a misplaced star chart. Keep the tone cooperative, with no danger or romance. End after they return the chart. This is an editorial example, not a tested prompt or a promise of compliance.

Choose a scene you can evaluate in a few exchanges. A clear goal helps you decide whether to continue.

3. Review suggestions for unwanted assumptions

Suggestions can use Backstory, recent conversations and previous roleplays. Select one and adjust it. Expected result: a premise you deliberately accept.

Read the whole proposal before proceeding. For the observatory example, reject an unwanted romance, real location or threatening subplot. Restate the two characters, cooperative tone and chart-return goal in your adjustment. These are creative preferences, not enforceable safety controls. If a suggestion feels uncomfortable, leave the attempt instead of accepting it to see what happens.

4. Inspect the opening reply

The selected scenario should begin in the next message. Expected result: an opening you can compare with your accepted premise.

Look for the observatory, the missing chart and the cooperative task. If a harmless detail is wrong, give a short correction: Keep Alex and Morgan at the observatory; they are looking for the chart, not leaving on a journey.

Treat that correction as guidance. No cited source guarantees adherence to every detail or boundary. If the reply crosses a limit, stop rather than repeatedly prompting for reassurance.

5. Keep temporary details in Current Roleplay

Current Roleplay, within Backstory+, holds temporary scenario context. Expected result: a short description of what matters now, separate from enduring character details.

The Current Roleplay guide recommends names and third-person wording where possible. Suggested example: Alex and Morgan are at the fictional observatory. They have found the chart and are returning it to the desk. Their visit ends afterward. Update or remove outdated information as the scene changes.

The Backstory+ overview distinguishes this field from Backstory and Boundaries. Do not rewrite lasting character information merely to record today's location. Boundary guidance is not proof that unwanted content cannot occur.

6. Decide when the scene is finished

Use your original goal as the stopping point. Expected result: a conscious decision to finish, revise or pause the attempt.

For this example, returning the chart is enough. You can send a brief closing message thanking Morgan for the visit, but do not treat conversational closure alone as a settings check. Avoid extending the scene simply because another reply invites it. If the task keeps drifting, pause; a usable short scene is a reasonable outcome.

7. Clear the active scenario and save

Clear Current Roleplay in Backstory+ and save the changes. Expected result: removal of the active scenario text, not an account or history reset.

Check that you are editing Current Roleplay, not another field, before clearing anything. Inspect the saved field afterward; if your client does not make persistence clear, seek official help instead of claiming success. The documented ending operation does not establish deletion of transcript messages, learned memories, backups or provider-held data. Leave unrelated settings alone.

Errors, limits and a simpler alternative

Do not confuse a missing control, an unwanted suggestion or an unclear save with evidence that you must upgrade, erase a chat or reset a character.

Stop if access, payment, privacy or saving remains unclear. For assistance, describe the platform, relevant label and observed behavior without sending a full private conversation. If you only want a low-stakes creative exchange, you can instead write a short fictional premise in ordinary chat. That editorial alternative does not verify removal of any previously active scenario.

Summary and source check

Choose a modest premise, review the opening, maintain only useful temporary context and finish with a saved field change. Ending a scene is not a data-deletion procedure.

Sources checked October 24, 2026, Asia/Shanghai. The three official wiki pages were read; no account UI, purchase or deletion was tested. Expected results are checkpoints for your attempt, not measured outcomes.
