How to Rewind a Secrets AI Chat Without Resetting the Whole Conversation in 2026

To rewind a Secrets AI chat, open the top-right Clock Button, select the message before the turn you want to replace, and confirm. Time Travel requires Premium or Ultimate and permanently deletes later messages. Avoid the adjacent Trash Button: it resets the whole conversation. Save essential details before proceeding.

Before you begin: prerequisites, evidence and disclosure

Use your own account, identify the correct conversation, and decide what you are willing to lose.

Official documentation checked October 9, 2026. This is a documentation review, not a hands-on account test; we did not subscribe, operate the controls or observe deletion. Examples below are fictional editorial guidance. Secrets AI is labeled 18+ in our tool data; follow the provider's current eligibility and content rules.

The Chat Features guide limits Time Travel to Premium and Ultimate. Check your existing entitlement before paying for missing access. If considering a subscription, verify the full charge, currency, renewal interval and cancellation route. No price or refund is promised here. Step 1: choose between steering and replacing a turn

Try an OOC note when you want a different next reply without removing the existing exchange.

The OOC Commands guide documents messages beginning with OOC: inside parentheses. Suggested example: '(OOC: Keep the scene in the museum and let me choose my character's next action.)' This adds guidance rather than performing a history-deletion operation. It does not guarantee compliance or erase earlier context.

If the next reply follows your intended boundary, no rewind may be needed. If the note is ignored, make one standalone instruction more specific. Stop if the conversation keeps violating your boundary. Choose a rewind only when replacing the unwanted exchange matters more than preserving the later turns.

Step 2: preserve essentials and identify the last good message

Warning: confirmation permanently removes later messages, with no undo.

The Time Travel guide describes a single timeline, not a recoverable branch. Before proceeding, keep only the fictional continuity or redacted evidence you genuinely need. Do not assume a new chat automatically copies the old one, or that an export or restore feature exists.

For a mistaken turn, find the message immediately before it. Read the surrounding exchange and check the companion and conversation. In a fictional museum scene, identify the final correct exchange before an unwanted change of setting. Keep a short note of that intended stopping point. Stop if you cannot distinguish the message you want to keep from the one you want to replace.

Step 3: enter Time Travel and select the stopping point

Click the Clock Button in the chat header at the top right, then select the intended message.

Scroll up in Time Travel Mode and click directly on the message. The documentation limits destinations to viewable messages in the current conversation. Review the resulting confirmation before accepting anything; this guide does not invent its exact button wording.

The Trash Button appears beside Clock in this mode and performs a whole-chat reset. Do not use it for a partial rewind. If your screen differs, the target is unavailable, or the confirmation appears to describe a different action, stop. Do not substitute deleting the companion or account for a missing rewind control.

Step 4: confirm once and continue from the retained point

Accept only after checking the target and the loss described in the warning.

The documented result is a conversation ending at the chosen point, with subsequent messages removed and relationship progress retained up to that point. Inspect the history before sending the corrected turn. Treat an unexpected result as a reason to stop, not to repeat a destructive action at progressively older messages.

Write one short replacement using fictional details: 'We remain in the museum. I ask the curator about the missing painting.' Check whether the next reply follows the corrected scene. A coherent reply is a practical continuity check, not proof that every memory or provider-held record changed.

Understand editing, saved memory and whole-chat reset

Editing an old sent message also removes later turns; it is not a harmless in-place correction.

Chat Features says an edited sent message generates a new reply and removes everything after that message. Choose editing for a small wording change only after accepting that consequence. Do not treat the generic editing FAQ as proof that Free users have a rewind workaround.

The Memory System guide covers the older memory list. It says memories created from deleted messages are removed during Time Travel. That is a narrower claim than clearing all saved information. The guide distinguishes Lorebooks; these four sources do not establish how every Lorebook field responds to a rewind.

The Time Travel FAQ separately says Trash clears conversation history while allowing a choice about retaining saved memories. This is not the partial-rewind workflow. Do not infer account-wide erasure from a clean chat screen or use either action as a substitute for a privacy request.

Troubleshoot missing controls without escalating risk

Check account, entitlement and target first; stop when the documented action cannot be identified.

If Clock is missing, confirm you are in the intended conversation and signed into the account with the relevant paid access. Free users should not expect Time Travel. If you believe existing access is missing, ask official support rather than immediately purchasing again. If only old facts persist, inspect the saved-memory controls your chat actually offers instead of deleting more history.

For a support report, note the date, device or browser, plan shown, target-message visibility and confirmation text. Share a minimal redacted screenshot through the official channel if needed. Never send passwords, verification codes, full payment details or a complete intimate transcript. Do not use rewinding to bypass safety restrictions.

Conclusion: preserve the useful conversation, not every unwanted turn

Choose the smallest action whose consequences you understand.

Use OOC for direction, a carefully selected rewind for replacement, and a whole-chat reset only for a genuinely fresh conversation. Keep preservation minimal and protected. Pause if you cannot accept losing later turns, identify the target, verify access or understand the memory impact. The optional roleplay comparison hub below is broader context, not an endorsement or a claim that Secrets appears in its shortlist.

Frequently asked questions

Does Secrets AI Free include the Clock-based Time Travel workflow?

No. The checked docs restrict Time Travel to Premium and Ultimate. Confirm existing access before considering payment; a missing control alone is not a reason to buy another subscription.

Can I restore later Secrets AI turns after confirming a rewind?

The Time Travel guide says there is no undo. Preserve any essential, non-sensitive continuity before confirmation. Do not rely on this workflow to recover the discarded exchange.

Will changing a Secrets AI chat's time setting perform a rewind?

No. Chat Features describes Live time, No time and Fixed time as clock-information settings that retain stored history. They are different from selecting an earlier message in Time Travel Mode.

What if I cannot tell which Secrets AI memory system my chat uses?

Do not apply the older memory-list rule to every memory interface. Inspect the controls shown in your chat and ask official support about the specific consequence before proceeding when saved continuity matters.
